Upgrading CCTV Infrastructure at the M1 North-Link Toll Plaza 🚧

Challenge

The M1 North-Link toll plaza required a critical upgrade to its outdated CCTV recording system. With thousands of vehicles passing through daily, uninterrupted surveillance was essential. The existing system was not only limited in capacity but also slow, making it difficult for staff to quickly review and retrieve footage.

Solution

CTI was entrusted to design and deliver a next-generation recording solution with zero downtime. Our team implemented:

• Ultra Series 128-channel NVR

• 175TB Hybrid SAN Storage System

• 4K Decoder

This robust setup ensures high-performance recording, scalability for future growth, and uncompromised system reliability.

We integrated with Deoban Systems S.L. toll collection software to create a transaction ID overlay, for each vehicle passing through. We improved efficiency, in terms of speed of access to footage and data management.

Outcome

The upgrade was completed under intense time pressure with no interruption to CCTV recording. In addition to delivering enhanced security and resilience, the new system has significantly improved operational efficiency. On-site staff can now access and review footage faster and more seamlessly, enabling quicker response times and reducing frustration caused by the old, sluggish platform.
